    Position Overview


    The Network and Security Administrator assists MasterCorp’s to maintain a reliable, safe, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.


    The Network and Security Administrator is able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation. You will be responsible for establishing and enforcing security policies as procedures as well as assisting to educate all MasterCorp’s users in those security procedures.


    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or at least 3 years of equivalent experience
    • Experience in information security or related field
    • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
    • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
    • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
    • Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
    • Experience with switches, routers, and VLANs
    • Experience with security monitoring tools
    •  Written and verbal communication skills
    • Adaptable to everchanging environments
    • Ability to prioritize workloads appropriately
    • Excellent problem-solving skills

    Essential Functions

    • Monitor computer networks for security issues.
    • Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.
    • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
    • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
    • Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
    • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
    • Stay current on IT security trends and news.
    • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
    • Perform penetration testing.
    • Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management.
    • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
    • Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.
    • Help define company security policies and practices.
    • Implement and manager security tools and platforms.
    • Secure all IT platforms to a high-security standard, to include but not limited to server OS both physical and virtual, cloud environments, and data structures.
    • Manage security appliances.
    • Review and analyze security logs.
    • Will serve as a backup for network design and configurations, included will be physical, virtual, and cloud networks.
