  • Overview

    The Sr. Benefits Manager is responsible for designing and implementing MasterCorp, Inc.'s benefit programs aligned with the organizationa business strategy. This position will provide thought leadership around the strategic direction and design of these programs as well as drive changes necessary to move towards best practices, improve processes, and effectively engage all stakeholders, including business leaders, associates, brokers and vendors. This position works to ensure programs enable MasterCorp to attract and retain a talented workforce, that we remain competitive while supporting the needs of a diverse workforce.


    You may be the benefits expert we are looking for if the following applies to your experience, education, and skillset:

    • 8+ years of progressive experience in leading major enterprise-wide health and welfare benefit program
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, HR, health policy, or a related field
    • Expertise in subject matter related to employee benefit programs
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong influencer with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
    • Demonstrated leadership in strategy development and effective execution of programs to deliver business results
    • Proven skills in negotiations

    The following, although not required, are highly preferred:

    • Professional benefits certification such as Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
    • Masters in related area of study

    Essential Functions

    As an innovative thinker capable of launching new programs to support our business goals across the organization, you will be responsible for all aspects of our benefits value proposition. The highlights of which include:

    • Provide strategic thought leadership with regard to maximizing employee value while controlling benefits costs to optimize ROI in associate benefits
    • Research, conduct RFP's, recommend and manage the implementation and administration of all corporate employee health, welfare and retirement programs including but not limited to group health plans, voluntary plans, executive benefit plans, PTO/Vacation/Sick plans and retirement plans
    • Participate in and review employee benefits surveys
    • Analyze benefit plan experience for cost-control and risk-assessment factors and recommend changes, as needed
    • Review plan performance, provider services and performance, administrative items and recommend changes to plan designs and offerings, as appropriate, to ensure compliance and competitiveness
    • Maintain knowledge of and analyze government regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations to remain and employer of choice
    • Facilitate the negotiations with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, coverage, and plan administrative fees
