    Position Overview

     

    This position will support the Company’s Risk Management department, property, casualty, auto and general liability claims and will occasionally provide support to the WC claims management process and legal affairs.

     

    Position Purpose

     

    The Claims Adjuster is responsible for a timely, client response and disposition of self-administered areas. Investigate thru discovery of work-related documents, staff statements and effectively resolves non-injury personal and property liability claims via telephone, internet or email. Must have excellent customer service. Responsibility extends to all aspects and phases of investigations, evaluations, auto liability, and general liability - negotiations of claims in accordance of lines of authority and best claims practice.

    Qualifications

    Experience and Education Requirements

    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent preferred.
    • One – Three Years of customer service or claims processing /handling experience preferred.
    • State licensing where required. Completion of claims certifications.

    Other Qualifications

    • Excellent – Word -Excel – Power point. (Excel Pivot Tables experience a must)
    • General Knowledge of insurance theory and practices, insurance contracts, and their application.
    • Knowledge of Claims processing and best practices

    Travel Requirements

    • Occasional to frequent travel required – dependent on frequency and location of claims

    Essential Functions

    • Manage and all casualty and general liability claims.
    • Initiates and conducts follow ups with internal staff and clients via proficient use of claims systems and related business.
    • Promptly handles to conclusion all assigned claims with moderate direction and oversight. Make decisions with delegated authority.
    • Adheres to high standards of professional conduct consistent with the delivery of outstanding service.
    • Assists or prepares files, documents for suit, trial, or subrogation (Property / Casualty)
    • Serves as the single point of contact for personal lines material damage claims systems and related business of operation.
    • Design and update company policies and procedures for claims GL/Auto claims management.
    • Submits incident reports, reinsurance and other information related to the claim to our insurance carriers.
    • Determines proper policy coverages and where necessary, investigates, evaluates, negotiates and equitably settles liability claims in accordance to company policies and proper authorization of the VP of Risk Management.
    • Delivers a positive ON- YOUR SIDE customer service experience to all internal, external, current and prospective NATION- WIDE customers.
    • Demonstrate commitment and support to field management teams and department goals.
    • Actively participate in regularly scheduled unit meetings and department trainings
    • Participate in activities that foster teamwork and quality and safe work environments.
    • Create Excel file history records of claims management cases
