  • Overview

    The Division Human Resources Director’s role is to take care of our greatest asset - our people and to champion our People Proud Culture. In this role you will act as a strategic partner to the Division Vice President of Operations and other senior leaders within the West Division. The West Division spans Nevada, Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico. You will also be responsible for leading and developing two HR Managers.

     

    The Human Resources Director will be influential in promoting a positive work environment by:

    • Supporting leaders in coaching, providing feedback and managing performance
    • Leading, motivating, and engaging teams to deliver exceptional results.
    • Overseeing our performance management programs.
    • Collaborating in the design and oversight of programs that promote recognition, development, and retention of key talent.
    • Coaching senior business leaders to manage performance effectively.
    • Managing compensation programs
    • Implementing best practices and improving operational effectiveness through HR programs
    • Providing expert advice on compliance, and employee relations issues.

    Providing guidance on human resource policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Education requirements

    • 4-year degree in HR, Business or related field preferred; or a combination of education and work experience
    • SHRM/SPHR/PHR certification preferred

    Job related experience

    • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive H.R. generalist experience preferred
    • Proven experience leading and managing a team of Human Resources professionals
    • Experience working in a matrix reporting relationship
    • Experience conducting employee interviews and managing investigations
    • Strong facilitation/training skills
    • A solid understanding of HR metrics such as turnover, time to hire, etc.
    • Strong working knowledge of Spanish. Bi-lingual preferred.
    • Experience in hospitality operations, policies and procedures and experience in MasterCorp’s job functions, policies, and procedures are preferred but not required

    Essential Functions

    • Works cross functionally to identify and develop HR solutions that will improve business results through increasing retention, lowering turnover and developing high performing teams.
    • Works collaboratively with HR peers in support of the overall HR strategy.
    • Partners with Talent Development to identify training and development needs by Division and executes organization wide programs and solutions that meet business needs
    • Drives and facilitates the bi-annual Talent Review Process for the Division ensuring consistency and rigor for talent calibration and succession planning. Works with the DVP to create actionable Individual Development Plans.
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure that Division recruitment needs are met and that a proactive approach is taken towards building a talent bench.
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition management to supervise the activities and performance of field recruiters, by monitoring staffing levels, having weekly communication, and sharing best practices
    • Coaches and counsels Regional Directors on employment and performance management issues
    • Conducts market visits within the Division to evaluate HR processes.
    • Balances business partner responsibilities with employee advocacy and builds a positive employee relations, culture and work environment
    • Oversees investigations of all escalated employee relations issues
    • Works with Division HR Manager to successfully resolve associate relations issues within Division
    • Monitors turnover within division and partners with operators to create action plans to address turnover
    • Provides regular updates to the DVP on HR issues within the Division
    • Manages the annual performance review process for the Division
    • Supervises HR Managers, site HR coordinators, and other HR staff
    • Maintains high quality HR standards as it relates to HR metrics, implementation of policies and procedures
    • Ensures that all federal, state, local laws, agreements and corporate HR-related compliance matters are proactively managed
    • Uses technical HR knowledge in support of organizational learning for the managers; acts as a contact for the development and implementation of department goals and strategies
