Overview

The Senior Director, Floor Care is the principal person responsible for MasterCorp’s floor care operations ensuring a high standard of floor care excellence at all MasterCorp sites and business lines.  Additionally, this position maintains a professional and effective relationship with clients, potential clients, direct reports, site teams, and our corporate team. The Senior Director implements, evaluates, and monitors processes to ensure client expectations are met while ensuring site contractual obligations, company policies and procedures are followed.  Additionally, this position is responsible for growing the business outside of the current structure which is timeshare housekeeping.  Floor Care will be a stand-alone business under the MasterCorp Hospitality Services umbrella performing services for Commercial facilities and potentially Residential offerings.  The Senior Director must have the experience and the ability to drive growth, manage scalability and deliver industry leading services and results.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Proven work experience as a VP of Floor Care or similar senior-level position
  • Minimum 10 years work related experience

Essential Functions

  • Balance the day to day needs of Floor Care with managing the growth of the business both internal and external to MasterCorp Hospitality Services.
  • Work with Learning & Development to create updated training manuals and SOP’s and to keep them current and timely.
  • Work with Marketing to create brochures and flier and internet content to highlight and sell MasterCorp’s Floor Care capabilities and menu of service offerings.
  • Develop and maintain pro forma models to price new business and to quickly turn bids around to clients.
  • Determine the potential pace of growth given the current infrastructure and determine scalability to be able to move this business forward quickly. Build teams in new markets and develop core competencies for new service offerings to expand MasterCorp’s footprint in Floor Care.
  • Manage the day to day operation of Floor Care ensuring the daily / weekly / monthly needs of the sites are met.
  • Direct and manage Region Floor Care Trainers. Reviews weekly reports and follows up as needed; reviews weekly site evaluations submitted by the Region Trainers and follows up as needed.
  • Develop curriculum for Floor Care Training and conducts training classes as needed for site Floor Technicians, Region Floor Care Trainers, and/or Site Managers.
  • Develop procedures for cleaning of new floor types to include labor, chemical, and equipment needs.
  • Develop quotes for floor cleaning at new sites and/or new services at existing sites.
  • Develop approved equipment list and creates standard offerings that must be adhered to regardless of the location. Equipment and products will be tested in the field and once approved will not be deviated from without approval.
  • Conduct site demonstrations on tile and carpet as requested for current or potential clients.
  • Review monthly corporate floor care revenue year to date (YTD). Reviews with site management or Regional Director to identify cause(s) and assists with development of strategy to correct when appropriate. 
  • Review weekly the encapsulation services to ensure process is being conducted properly.
  • Conduct site visits during which floor care tools and equipment and processes are reviewed.
  • Ensure processes are being followed and equipment is being properly maintained. If deficiencies are found, confirms correction is in place by addressing with MasterCorp site management and/or site Floor Technicians at end of visit.   
  • Maintain communications with sites and resolves issues, answers questions, provides direction regarding floor cares processes including but not limited to proper chemical use and techniques.
  • Train and Mastercorp certify site Floor Care Technicians – Conducts certification call and test.
  • Routinely monitor floorcarehelp@mastercorp.com inbox and respond rapidly.
  • Review weekly the average hourly rate paid for carpet cleaning and respond appropriately where average hourly rate appears above normal.
  • Ensure a safe working environment at each site and office.
  • Build and maintain professional relationship with resort management and other key members of the resort staff.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of MasterCorp team members.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to Board of Directors regarding the Floor Care strategy and execution.
  • Build positive relationships with peers, management, and customers.
